Depression is not new for any of us. We all have faced it at some point of our life, the difference is only the way we suffered and the way we fought with it. Depression is the most dangerous disease today. It worsens because of no diagnosis or misdiagnoses. If the following symptoms last for atleast two weeks, then the problem should be taken seriously.

  1. You feel depressed,sad,blue,tearful.
  2. Lost interest in pleasure things.
  3. Loss in appetite, loss or gain in weight.
  4. Trouble in sleeping.
  5. Tiredness, no energy.
  6. Agitated, restless, slowed down.
  7. Trouble in concentrating, thinking clearly, hesitation in making decisions.
  8. Thoughts of killing yourself.

    These symptoms upset the daily routine.

    Some prescribed drugs that can cause depression are,

    1. Nytol and other sleeping aids containing diphenhydramine.
    2. Diazepam(Valium), alprazolam(Xanax) and other antianxiety medicines.
    3. Medicines prescribed to strengthen the heart such as digitoxin(Crystodigin) and digoxin(Lanoxin).
    4. Medicines for high blood pressure and angina such as propranolol (Inderal) and other blocker drugs.
    5. Reserpine and other high blood pressure medications prescribed to control nerve impulse.

      Most people suffering from depression don’t even have the slightest idea that they can be treated without prescription. All those people either go to a professional psychologist or a counselor or take antidepressants like Zoloft or Prozac. Believe it or not but antidepressant are currently the third leading prescription drugs by revenue and profitability. This fact itself proves that depression is very common and widespread. The side effects like nervousness to nausea and sexual dysfunction are enough to understand the seriousness of these antidepressants. The fact that these drugs cripple with the mental health of the patient, people are going heading towards the natural cures.
